- Kymlinge
Kymlinge is an area of
Sundbyberg Municipality ,Stockholm County ,Sweden .In the 1970s there were plans to develop the area, mainly to accommodate government agencies, state-owned enterprises and other offices moving out from central
Stockholm .Instead it was decided to relocate some government agencies to other cities in Sweden. As the municipality (which is the smallest in Sweden by area) wanted to preserve the area as a nature resort it was left untouched.
The planning of the metro station on the Blue line to
Akalla was already well advanced. The transit authorityStorstockholms Lokaltrafik decided to go on with the planning, but the station was left unfinished. If the area will be exploited in the future it is possible to go on with the work. In the beginning of the 21st century such plans were again discussed. The unfinished station is located betweenHallonbergen andKista .Kymlinge is sometimes called a “
ghost station ” or an "abandoned station", but the fact is that the project just has been put off indefinitely. The station is said to be haunted by theSilverpilen ghost train.ee also
