Trudie Goodwin

Trudie Goodwin (born 13 November, 1951 in London), is an English actress best known for playing Sergeant June Ackland in the high-profile British television police drama The Bill since 1984.

She attended Eltham Hill Technology College and was part of Greenwich Council's campaign "Get a Life, Get a Greenwich Education"Fact|date=June 2007

Goodwin has appeared in The Bill since its pilot, "Woodentop", which was part of the storyboard plays for Thames TV in 1983. However, in February 2006, Goodwin announced she would be leaving the serial drama at the end of the year. [http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds28911.html] . She also took a sabbatical from the show lasting several months in 2005 in order to pursue other interests which included charity work in Nigeria with CBM. Her last episodes aired in March 2007 and to-date she is still the longest-serving member of The Bill cast in the programme's history.

Trudie appeared in an episode of Heartbeat on Sunday 8th July 2007.

Trudie more recently appeared on Countdown in dictionary corner with Susie Dent, hosted by Des O'Connor and Carol Vorderman from Friday 27th July 2007 - Tuesday 7th August 2007 (excluding the weekends in between)
