Goodwin has appeared in
The Bill since its pilot, "Woodentop", which was part of the storyboard plays forThames TV in 1983. However, in February 2006, Goodwin announced she would be leaving the serial drama at the end of the year. [http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds28911.html] . She also took a sabbatical from the show lasting several months in 2005 in order to pursue other interests which included charity work inNigeria with CBM. Her last episodes aired in March 2007 and to-date she is still the longest-serving member of The Bill cast in the programme's history.Trudie appeared in an episode of Heartbeat on Sunday 8th July 2007.
