Robert B. Ammons

Robert Bruce Ammons (1920-1999), founder, with his wife Carol H. Ammons, of Psychological Reports and Perceptual and Motor Skills, received his Ph.D. in clinical and experimental psychology from the University of Iowa in 1946.

His interests were in cultural history, quantitative history, motor skills learning, and verbal intelligence, reflected in his 300+ publications. Before coming to the University of Montana in 1957 as a full professor, he taught at Syracuse University, University of Denver, Tulane University, University of Louisville, and at the University of North Dakota. He retired as Professor Emeritus from the University of Montana in 1985 after 28 years of service.
