Robert Sayle was a
department store inCambridge ,England belonging to theJohn Lewis Partnership . The original Robert Sayle store opened in1840 in St. Andrew's Street and continued to trade until 2004, when it moved to temporary premises in Burleigh Street. John Lewis continued to trade under the Robert Sayle name until6 November 2007 , when the temporary store was closed. It was replaced on8 November 2007 by a branch of John Lewis at a new, larger building on the original site, which is part of the Grand Arcade shopping centre. [cite web

Peterborough under the Robert Sayle name from 1940 to 1956, when it was destroyed by fire. Formerly known as Thomsons, the shop was renamed following acquisition by the Partnership. In 1982 a new store, John Lewis Peterborough, was opened as the anchor ofQueensgate shopping centre .References
