DIRECTOR OF BECKENHAM ESTATE AGENCY DISQUALIFIED
The director of an estate agency business that failed with debts of more than £328,000 has been disqualified in the High Court of Justice from acting as a company director for 5 years.
Sami Muduroglu ("Mr Muduroglu") age 41 of Wickham Way, Beckenham, Kent was a director of Quest Residential Limited ("Quest"), which carried on business from premises at 278 High Street, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 1DY.
Quest was placed into liquidation on 24 October 2002 with estimated debts of £328,000 owed to its creditors.
The Disqualification Order, made on 17 January 2005, prevents Mr Muduroglu from being a director of a company or, in any way, whether directly or indirectly, being concerned in or taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company for the above period.
The Insolvency Service, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Trade & Industry, has responsibility (under Section (6) of the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986) for the investigation of the conduct of directors of failed companies and for the disqualification of those who are considered to be unfit to be involved in the management of companies in the future.
Matters of unfit conduct, found by the court, not disputed by Mr Muduroglu:
He caused Quest to trade from September 2001 when the company was unable to pay its debts as and when they fell due, to the detriment and ultimate expense of Crown departments.
He has since moved Fisher to the Dulwich Hamlet ground, and in March, 2008, has asked for people with resources to take over the running of the club. According to Southwark News, this means funding the team wages and expenses without sharing in other income, or profits from the redevelopment of the ground. Fisher has plaiing perrsmission for 111 flats on the strop of land where the stands, clubhouse and car park is situated, which for whatever reason are not included in the designation of Metropolitan Open Land that the pitch and training areas enjoy.
There is now a proposal, which presumably includes Sami Mud, to build a new stadium on the site of the old stadium and athletics track at Southwark Park. This is planned to be a new home for Fisher. it is widely assumed that the quid pro quo for this would be planning permission for the existing but disused Surrey Docks stadium, home to Fisher since its inception.
But as the pitch is Metroplitan Open land, there should be considerable opposition and obstacles.
Muduroglu's associate Nick McCormack, described as owner of historic Dulwich Hamlet FC, is seeking similar offers to take over funding of the club. He and his building company wishes to build on the Hamlet ground, and again move the pitch on to MOL.
