EEF, the manufacturers' organisation, (EEF) is a political advocacy association of UK
manufacturing ,engineering and technology-based businesses and represents the interests of manufacturing at all levels ofgovernment . Formerly known as the Engineering Employers' Federation, EEF is the largest sectoralemployers organisation in the UK. It has a membership of around 6,000 businesses.Aims
* EEF provides political representation on behalf of UK businesses in the engineering, manufacturing and technology-based sectors, lobbying government,
MPs ,regional development agencies ,MEPs andEuropean Insitutions .
* EEF provides members with advice, guidance and support inemployment law ,employee relations ,health and safety ,environmental management , information and research and education and skills.
* EEF deliverstraining ,consultanc y and other services in all of these areas to help businesses manage compliance with their legal obligations and to improve business performance.Membership
Membership of EEF is corporate: organisations and companies are members, not the individuals nominated to represent them.
Structure
EEF is a federation of 11 independent regional associations (EEF East Anglia, EEF East Midlands & Mid-Anglia, EEF North West, EEF Northern, EEF Northern Ireland, Scottish Engineering, EEF South, EEF Western, EEF West Midlands, EEF Yorkshire and Humberside) and the Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA). EEF incorporates the formerly independent UK Steel Association as a national division.
