Childproofing involves reducing risks to the point that a child should not come to forseable harm, and is a term particularly applied to the act of making ahome safe.Childproofing includes the restriction of children to safe areas, or preventing a child from reaching an unsafe area. Safety gates (also known as "stair gates") are used to help prevent a child from accessing an area of a house, especially the
stairway .Playpen s are used for restricting movement to a much smaller area.Childproofing a pool reduces accidental drowning deaths. Many governments require a
pool fence to help prevent young child access to the pool, including coming from the house. Many homes use a removable mesh pool fence.Packaging
"Child-resistant Packaging" or "C-R Packaging" is special
