Adi Maislinger came from a social democratic household. In 1931 he joined the
Communist Party of Germany. When membership in the party was made illegal by the Nazi government, he became a courier under the code name “Bertl”. In 1935 he was sentenced to prison for eight years for "preparation to high treason". On8 September 1942 theGestapo issued an order for protective custody and a short time after that he was sent to the concentration camp in Dachau. There, Communist comrades from Munich helped him to get a job at the detachment for disinfection. The resulting freedom of action allowed him to become active in the resistance again. After his liberation Adi Maislinger passed on his experience to groups of the ActionReconciliation / Service forPeace. References
