Timothy Michael "Tim" Welch is an American administrative worker, best known for his role with the
professional wrestling promotionTotal Nonstop Action Wrestling . Upon joining TNA in June 2003, Welch worked as a general administrator, as the director of media relations and as an assistant to the creative team, supervising scripts. He also occupied positions within the payroll, contract and talent relations divisions, and has worked as an interviewer and media liaison. In addition to his backstage roles, Welch was the ring announcer for "TNA Xplosion ", the syndicatedtelevision program of TNA.In
November 2004 , TNA producerDavid Sahadi discovered thatWorld Wrestling Entertainment (the largest professional wrestling promotion in theUnited States ) was filming an advertisement for the 2005 Royal Rumble in theOrlando, Florida based Universal Studios, not far from SoundStage 21, the location of TNA television andpay-per-view tapings. Welch, along with several other TNA employees, visited the WWE studio, and filmed the meeting of the TNA and WWE employees. WWE was furious, and demanded that TNA hand over all footage or face alawsuit . At TNA Turning Point 2004 onDecember 5 , Welch was featured in a series of vignettes in which he mimicked WWE chairmanVince McMahon . Accompanied by anactor impersonating McMahon's son-in-law, WWE wrestlerTriple H , Welch was shown searching the backstage area for thevideotape . In the course of his search, Welch "fired" a TNA employee for dress code violations (WWE had recently instated a formal dress code which all wrestlers were obliged to abide by), refused to accept a plate ofcookie s from Traci Brooks, and instructed "Triple H" to destroy a likely videotape with his signaturesledgehammer . Later in the evening, Welch was attacked by amidget wrestler, and subsequently removed from the building in anambulance . The footage was then shown, albeit with WWE employees and logos blurred.Welch returned to TNA television in
February 2005 as Mr. Daggett, thelawyer ofJeff Jarrett . As a member ofPlanet Jarrett , Jarrett's stable of henchmen, Welch frequently butted heads with TNA Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes. After Rhodes prohibited Jarrett from using aguitar as a weapon in his match withKevin Nash at TNA Against All Odds 2005 onFebruary 13 , Daggett unsuccessfully tried to convince him to repeal the decision. "Daggett" made several more appearances throughout early2005 , interfering on Jarrett's behalf in the match between Jarrett andDiamond Dallas Page at TNA Destination X 2005 onMarch 13 , wipingblood off The Outlaw's face so he would not lose a first blood match, and taking out a restraining order against Kevin Nash after he attacked Planet Jarrett memberChris Candido .Welch (in his Mr. Daggett persona) made an appearance outside of TNA on the
July 30 ,2005 episode of NWA Cyberspace Shockwave, offering Abyss the chance to back out of his scheduled title match with Jeff Jarrett. He remained with TNA until October 2005, when he left the promotion.Welch reprised his role as a Vince McMahon impersonator at TNA Turning Point 2006 on
