- North American Vending
North American Vending (NO LONGER IN BUSINESS) is a
bulk vending business opportunity that claims to sell "The Ultimate Vending Machine." The company's website invites customers to compare their machine against1.800.Vending 's triple-selection machine andU-Turn Vending 's 4-, 8-, and 12-selection machines. Like most biz-ops, NAV offers locating services to help customers find places to put their machines.Legal difficultiesCirca
2002 , the United States Government brought action against NAV in theU.S. District Court for the District of Utah . Specifically, the Government found that certain statements made in NAV advertising about profitability were misleading, including these figures::"5 machines = $1000 profit":"10 machines = $2000 profit":"20 machines = $4000 profit"This lawsuit was part of a blanket action by the FTC to target home-based vending companies. These statements, when glanced over on their website, could have been taken out of context. However, when read as part of the overall page, showed they were not earnings claims based in any time segment, rather what the income of the number of machines could bring in, once emptied.
NAV stood behind every machine that it produced in the 10 years it was in business. Offering a lifetime warranty on its machines, the clients knew they were buying a quality machine. NAV even replaced stolen machines for its clients. And the positive testimonials from its clients was something that was a source of pride for its employees.
