Alhaji G.V. Kromah is a
Liberia n politician and former rebel leader. He is aMuslim and member of the Mandingo ethnic group.Kromah was a special assistant to the Vice-President during the regime of President
William Tolbert before becoming managing director of the Liberian Broadcasting System and Minister of Information under PresidentSamuel Doe . He went into exile in June 1990, months after the civil war began in Liberia. He later returned and joined theUnited Liberation Movement of Liberia for Democracy (ULIMO) rebel group.ULIMO split into two factions in 1994, with Kromah leading one faction known as ULIMO-K. Its power base was in northwestern Liberia, in and around
Lofa County .After the war ended, Kromah contested the
