Goo (Gumby character)

Goo (Gumby character)

Goo is a character in the American claymation series Gumby, by Art Clokey. She was originally voiced by Norma Mac Millan. Along with Gumby, Pokey, and Prickle, Goo is a member of the main cast of characters in the series. She plays the keyboards in Gumby's band.
Goo first appeared in the episode entitled Santa Witch (December 21, 1963). Her final appearance was in the episode Once Upon a Mouse (June 1, 2009).

Appearance

Goo has blue skin and yellow hair (usually tied in a white bow). She is the shortest of the main characters. Her physical appearance has been compared to that of a mermaid, since her lower half is comprised of a "tail" with split "fins." It is unclear whether she was ever defined as a mermaid within the series or viewers merely labeled her as such. In any case, she has two flipper-like arms, no legs (although she does frequently "stand" on her "tail fins"), and slides rather than walks. Her sliding movement is often accompanied by a tinkling chime. Goo is the smallest of the main cast members.

Special Abilities

Goo is the only main character who can fly without the aid of a mechanical device. She can also spit blue projectiles (as seen in an episode when she uses them to incapacitate an enemy in a biplane) and can change her physical shape at will.
