Valentin Y. Mudimbe (born 1941) is a
polymathic philosopher ,professor , andauthor of non-fiction books and articles about African culture, poems, and novels. He was born inZaire (now theDemocratic Republic of the Congo ). After stints atHaverford College andStanford University , he now teaches atDuke University .Education
