Bereishit

Bereishit is a Hebrew word, which is the first word of the Torah (the first five books of the Tanach, or Hebrew Bible). It may be translated as the phrase "In the beginning of".

When used as a noun, Bereishit might refer to:

*The Hebrew title of the biblical Book of Genesis.
*Bereishit (parsha), the first weekly parsha in the annual Jewish cycle of Torah readings.
