The club was founded in1971 and joined theStaffordshire County League (North) in1979 . They joined theStaffordshire Senior League in1984 , and won it for the first time in1990 .Eccleshall fc also have a very successful seconds team with many influential players including the mighty paul cox or 'coxy' as he is known to his friends.
After work was completed on their stadium in
2002 , the club became eligible to join theNorth West Counties Football League , and did so after winning their league in2003 . As of yet they have not performed well in the division with a selection of lower half finishes, however they did reach the Semi Finals of theStaffordshire Senior Cup in 2007-08 for the first time, defeating the reserve/youth sides ofStoke City 3-1 andPort Vale 3-2 to reach this point. They eventually bowed out in the Semi Final to eventually winners Rocester losing 1-0 at home.The club's record home attendance is 2,011 for a match against
F.C. United of Manchester on5 November 2005 . The previous record was 363 for a match against Wilbech Town in1991 .External links
