Bob Devin Jones

Bob Devin Jones (1954 - )is an American playwright, director, and actor. He is the author of the plays "Uncle Bends: A Home-Cooked Negro Narrative" and "Black Witness: James Baldwin". He has also written and performed a solo tribute to poet Langston Hughes.

His plays have been performed at regional theaters across the United States and in Ireland. As a writer, Jones has worked in association with the Los Angeles New Works Festival and the Sacramento Theatre Company. He was an artistic associate of the latter company for several years in the 1990s and was featured there in many roles as an actor. He has also directed plays for that company in Sacramento, California and for other theaters including the American Stage in St. Petersburg, Florida and American Hellenic Theatre in Athens, Greece.

Jones, who grew up in Southern California, trained at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Jones lives in St. Petersburg, Florida where he is the co-artistic director of The Studio@620. He spends much of his time traveling around the state of Florida working for The Florida Humanities Council.
