Queensland ,Australia . It was formed by a merger of theQueensland divisions of the Liberal and National parties. It was approved by the Liberal State Council on26 July 2008 . Liberal party leaderMark McArdle became deputy leader of the new party, and deputy leader of the opposition.As of September 2008, the merger has not taken effect at the Federal level: Queensland Liberal and National party representatives and Senators have remained affiliated to their respective parties.
