Lunner is a municipality in the county of Oppland, Norway.

Lunner was separated from Jevnaker January 1, 1898.

The municipality is a part of the Hadeland region.

The name

The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old farm Lunner (Norse "Lunnar"), since the first church was built here. The name is the plural form of "lunnr" m 'log'. (The farm and the church is lying on a long hill - and this is probably compared with a log.)
