red dwarf star in theconstellation Sculptor, which is found in the southern part of the sky. As it lies very close to the origin of the astronomicalright ascension coordinates, it became the first star in both theHenry L. Giclas and the Luyten Half-Secondstar catalogue s. It is one of the closest stars to the Sun, at an approximate distance of 14.2light year s. However it is too faint to be seen with the unaided eye. Thestellar classification of this star has been rated from M1.5V to M3.0V by various sources.ee also
