Sremsko Baranjska Oblast (Croatia)
After
Croatia recoveredKrajina and EasternSlavonia from the autonomous republic ofSrpska Krajina in 1995, Eastern Slavonia was placed under UN administration and called Sremsko Baranjska Oblast(Srem and Baranya Region). Stamps were issued soon afterwards.Postal administration was transferred back to Croatia on

Srpska Krajina (Croatia)
After
Croatia declared itself independent ofYugoslavia in 1991, Croatian Serbs inKrajina , WesternSlavonia and Eastern Slavonia proclaimed their allegiance to Yugoslavia and formed the Republic ofSrpska Krajina under UN protection. Elections for a president and parliament were held in January 1994.In 1995, the Republic of Croatia began to recover the Serb territories. Krajina and Western Slavoniawere incorporated back into Croatia that year while Eastern Slavonia was placed under UN administrationand called Sremsko Baranjska Oblast (Srem and Baranya Region).
Stamps were issued soon after Srpska Krajina was proclaimed and continued until the Croatian recovery ofKrajina. Later issues were made by Sremsko Baranjska Oblast ("q.v.").
