Eastlake Football Club

Eastlake Football Club is a semi-professional Australian rules football club based in the inner-south of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory.

Demons

The Demons, as they are nicknamed, compete in the AFL Canberra competition, and have been fairly successful in recent times, although in 2005 they finished 5th, missing the finals.

Best players

Their best players include Julian Farkas (recently retired, moving into a coaching role) and Nathan Clarke, who has previously had a short stint playing with professional AFL club, the Brisbane Lions. Nick Bowen who made his senior debut in 2008 is also an important player for Eastlake.

Alex Jesaulenko

Alex Jesaulenko is the most famous player to play for Eastlake. In the late 1960's, Alex went to Melbourne and linked up with the Carlton football club, who he captain-coached to a premiership. He was later included in the AFL team of the century.

Phil Carman

Phil Carman is possibly the most infamous player to play for Eastlake. He was suspended for head-butting an umpire whilst playing for Eastlake as captain-coach.

Craig Bolton

Former Brisbane player, now playing for The Sydney Swans. Named co-captain for the 2008 Swans season.

Junior teams

The Eastlake football club also has an extensive junior teams.
