George Child Villiers, 8th Earl of Jersey

George Henry Robert Child Child Villiers, 8th Earl of Jersey (June 2 1873–December 31 1923), was an English peer, the son of Victor Child Villiers, 7th Earl of Jersey.

He married Lady Cynthia Needham, daughter of Francis Needham, 3rd Earl of Kilmorey, on 8 October 1908. They had four children:

* George Francis Child Villiers, 9th Earl of Jersey (1910–1998)
* Lady Joan Child Villiers (b. 26 September 1911), married David Colville, (who died 1986) grandson of Charles Colville, 1st Viscount Colville of Culross.
* The Hon. (Edward) Mansel Child Villiers (1913–1980), married twice (firstly 1934, diss. 1940 to Barbara Mary and secondly 1946, diss. 1971 to Princess Maria Gloria Pignatelli Aragona Cortés) and had issue:
** (Edward) John Mansel Hugh Frampton Child Villiers (b. 1935), married (1958) Celia Elinor Vadyn and has issue:
*** Alexander Child Villiers (b. 1961)
*** Roderick Antony Child Villiers (b. 1963)
** (George Anthony) Robert Child Villiers (b. 1947)
** Cynthia Beatrice Child Villiers (1948–1949)
** Mary Ann Child Villiers (b. 1951)
** Maria Consuelo (Lily) Child Villiers (b. 1953)
* Lady Ann Child Villiers (b. 1916), married (1937) Major Alexander Henry Elliot (See Earls of Minto, colls) (who died 1986)

He sold the Child & Co bank, part of the family's inheritance since the 5th Earl married into the Child family, to Glyn's, Mills and Co Bank in 1923.
