Stourbridge, EnglandOccupation Dancer Sarah Jones (born July 1, 1935), better known as Sarah Paddy Jones is a British salsa dancer who win the Spanish talent show Tú Sí Que Vales and has the Guinness record for the Oldest salsa dancer.[1][2]
Biography
Paddy born in Stourbridge, England. She started dancing classical dance when she was 2½ years old and at her fifteen years old began taking classes at more disciplines.[3] However, she left it at the age of 22 when she married with her husband, David, who moved to Gandia, Spain when her husband retired, but he died of leukaemia just two years later.[4]
After the death of her husband Paddy decided take flamenco classes on Nicolás Espinosa's academy of dance, were she learned to dance salsa and formed with Nicolás (who is 40 years old younger) the salsa duo "Son del Timbal". On December 2, 2009 the duo won the spanish talent show Tú Sí Que Vales winning € 100.000 and the global fame being compared to Susan Boyle.[5]
After the international succes the couple competed in Bailando 2010 the Argentinian version of Dancing with the Stars, since they were booted off Showmatch (in the round 11) the relationship of the couple had been fraught and her partner Nicolás decided it was time to move on, shutting down the bar he ran in Gandia, Spain, where Paddy lives and moved away from the area.[6]
