History
Inspired by his babysitter's boyfriend, Maja became interested in drawing at the age of 12. He spent his teenage years drawing graffiti on the streets of Helsinki, which was noted by, among everybody else, the authorities. After years of surfing from school to another, the artist decided to drop out and started bartending in order to finance the equipment needed for creating street art. Maja later decided to leave Helsinki and switched to graphic design, first studying it for a year at a folk high school in Anjalankoski and teaching it for another year at the same institute. After Anjalankoski Maja returned to Helsinki, only to soon leave the city again, this time to start illustration studies for the second time in Jurva, where the artist continues to work and live.[1] Maja has held several successful exhibitions all around Finland, for example in Seinäjoki, Helsinki, Kouvola,[2][3] and he's also famous for his party posters [4] for a Finnish club combo Club Robotnik and Club Collective KE:KE.
