Knight's Cross of the Iron CrossOtto Lancelle (27 March 1885 – 3 July 1941) was a Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II and a recipient of both the Pour le Mérite and Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Pour le Mérite was the highest military order of the German Empire. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Otto Lancelle was killed on 3 July 1941 at the Krāslava Bridgehead on the Dvina near Krāslava, Latvia. He was posthumously promoted to Generalleutnant and awarded the Knight's Cross.
