Oto Horvat was born in 1967 in Novi Sad, Serbia. He studied in Novi Sad, Erlangen and Berlin. He writes poetry and translates from Hungarian, German and Italian. He lives and works in Florence, Italy. He has published the following books of poetry:
- Where forests disappear (KZNS, Novi Sad, 1987, Branko Award)
- Coagulation (Matica Serbian, Novi Sad, 1990)
- Gorki List (Brotherhood and unity, Novi Sad, 1990)
- Photo (Prometheus, Novi Sad, 1996)
- Canada. Gedichte (Verlag Bernhard Martin, Fuhrt (Bay), 1999)
- Residence permit (National Book, Belgrade, 2002)
- Travel in Olmo (National Library of Stefan the First Crowned, Kraljevo, 2008)
Also, he has a book of translations John Pilinski, Crater, Selected Poems (JMMT Forum, Novi Sad, 1992). In preparation for the publication is a book of translation of selected poems of Hans Magnus Enzensberger published by the publishing house Agora. His poems are represented in the anthologies Die Neuen Mieter.[1]
