Oreino, Lasithi

Oreino is a small village in Lasithi prefecture on Crete. It is situated 29 kilometers north east of Ierapetra and lies 10 kilometers from the sea (Mavros Kolimbos-Aghios Panteleimon settlements). Today it belongs to Ierapetra municipality. It has been built 650 meters above sea level ('oreinos' means mountainous in Greek), east of Thripti mountain, in an area rich in vegetation.
