FC Olimpia Volgograd Full name Football Club Olimpia Volgograd Founded 1989 Dissolved 2009 League Russian Second Division, Zone South 2008 4th FC Olimpia Volgograd (Russian: «Олимпия» (Волгоград)) was a Russian football team from Volgograd. It played professionally from 2000 to 2008. Their best result was 2nd place in Zone South of the Russian Second Division in 2003.
Notable alumni
Denis Kolodin and Roman Adamov played for the Russia national football team. Andrei Bochkov, Aleksandr Dutov, Dmitri Kozlov, Anton Sakharov and Roman Tseryuta played in the Russian Premier League after playing for Olimpia.
Coach Leonid Slutsky, who started his coaching career in Olimpia, led PFC CSKA Moscow to the quarterfinals of the 2009–10 UEFA Champions League.
