Olaf Swantee is the CEO of telecommunications firm, Everything Everywhere.

Early life

Swantee is a graduate of Economics and received his European MBA from Europenne des Affaires in Paris in 1989.

Career

Swantee started his technology career in Germany as a Product Manager at Compaq and Digital Equipment Corporation. His official role was Marketing Director of the European PC division.^[2] After a re-location to Boston, he rejoined Compaq/DEC and was a key player in facilitating the successful merger; his position was re-structured as Director for Sales and Marketing.

After Hewlett-Packard gained control through acquisition of Compaq in 2002, Swantee quickly rose through the management ranks; settling as Senior Vice President of Hewlett-Packard; dealing with business-to-business software sales in the EMEA.

Swantee joined France Télécom in 2007.^[3]

Swantee progressed to his current role as CEO at Everything Everywhere from his role as Executive Vice President of European Activities and Sourcing for France Télécom. He came into post on the 1 September 2011 after replacing previous CEO, Tom Alexander.^[4] He is reported to have entered the post under "sudden" circumstances; after the abrupt leaving of Alexander.^[5]
