Oikango

Oikango is a village situated in the northern part of Namibia,in Oshana region, in the Ongwediva constituency. It is 10KM away from Ongwediva town & have no electricity. The headman of this village is Mr Gabriel Shaduka Shilongo.

Demographics

The population is approximately 2087 people.People in this village speak oshiwambo (kwanyama & ndonga) Many homesteads practice subsistence farming which serves as the main sources of food and income. The main soccer team is Bitter-star.The nearest school is in the next village which is called Omashekediva. The school's name is Omashekediva combined (grade 8-10) & a primary school(grade 1-7). most of the kids in Oikango go to this schools. after completing their grade 10, they are given an opportunity to apply to any school of their choice.
