Route description

OH 692, which exists entirely within Meigs County's Scipio Township, commences at a T-intersection with OH 143 northwest of the unincorporated community of Harrisonville. This two-lane route starts out heading east-northeasterly through a heavily forested area, working its way up to a connection with each of Gibson Road and Townsend Road, where OH 692 turns due east. Winding its way through the woods, while passing by the occasional field, OH 692 curves to the northeast, then bends back to the east as it heads into the intersection that marks the northern terminus of OH 684. OH 692 turns to the left, taking on a northerly path that takes it through the hamlet of Pageville. A few homes and side streets dot the landscape of Pageville, along with the intersection of OH 692 and Pageville Road. North of that intersection, OH 692 departs the hamlet, and winds its way through more woods. OH 692 then enters into a more open area as it arrives at its junction with OH 681, which marks its terminus.[2]

History

OH 692 made its debut in 1937, along the route that it currently occupies. Other than the fact that the hamlet of Pageville was known as Pagetown at the time of OH 692's inception, no significant changes of note have taken place to this route over the years.[3][4]
