Ofer Bavly Born Geneva, Switzerland Occupation President of the Israel Leadership Institute (ILI) - North America [1] Known for Israeli diplomat, promoting Israeli foreign policy, business, art, energy development, urban sustainability, health infrastructure and safety. Ofer Bavly (born in Geneva, Switzerland to Israeli diplomats) is an Israeli diplomat with an experience spanning twenty years. His last posting abroad was as Consul General of Israel to Florida and Puerto Rico from 2007 to 2011.[2]
Biography
Mr. Ofer Bavly holds a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations & Middle Eastern Studies) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1991, he joined the Foreign Ministry and served in Israel's Embassies in Madrid and Rome. Bavly also holds the rank of Captain in the Israel Defense Forces. In 2005 he was appointed Policy Advisor to the Foreign Minister of Israel. In 2006 he was appointed Counselor in the Foreign Ministry’s North America Division. Mr. Bavly is fluent in Hebrew, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Arabic and speaks basic German. He is married to Ayala and they have 3 children.[3]
