It was first published in 1909 in an Assamese magazine named Baahi (Flute in English). It was officially adopted as the Assam's state song in 1927 at Oxom Chhatra Xonmilon held in Tezpur. Assamese version

This is the Assamese version of the song.[2]

Translation into English

O my dearest country
O my finest country
Such a beautiful, such a fruitful
Such a dearest country

O my tuneful tongue
Asom’s melodic tongue
All over the world, even if you search for the life
Won’t find such a land

O my birthplace
O my mother Asomi
Let me see, your face for once
Am still not satisfied.
