The network was founded in
1982 by Al and Tommie Cooper with its first full-powered station based inRoswell, New Mexico . It is now produced inOdessa, Texas byPrime Time Christian Broadcasting withKMLM-TV serving as the flagship station. The network is available on terrestrial broadcast television and cable TV systems. With five full power stations (four of which haveDTV counterparts for compliancy with theFCC 's 2009 standards) and 22 low-power TV stations, GLC has a solid southwestern United States base. God's Learning Channel is also broadcast from theAMC-4 satellite, as a free-to-air channel on theIntelsat Americas 5 satellite for direct-to-home broadcast dishes, and is available asstreaming video over theInternet . On April 15th, 2006, GLC launched on APR-1 (Insat 2E ) to provide its signal toIndia ,Israel ,Asia ,Eastern Europe ,Russia , theMiddle East andAustralia . Because of the APR-1 satellite, GLC has established a foundation on many cable systems in thePhilippines . On May 1, 2007, GLC was able to launch on the EutelSat W2 which coversEurope ,Northern Africa , theMiddle East , andRussia for direct-to-home satellite viewing.GLC focuses on several main aspects that affect the Church today:
