Brian Wilson (Fox News correspondent)

Brian Wilson (Fox News correspondent)

Brian Wilson (born February 15, 1956) is the vice president and Washington D.C. bureau chief for Fox News Channel. He is also the current chairman of the Capitol Hill Radio/TV Correspondents' Association.

Prior to his current position, Wilson was the host of the Washington D.C. based weekend program, "Weekend Live," since 2003 (From 2003 until May 2006, he only previously anchored the Sunday edition). From 2003 to 2006, he was also the congressional correspondent for the network.

During his career at Fox News, Brian was the first to report on Justice Sandra Day O'Connor’s retirement from the U.S. Supreme Court, and has covered the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Tom DeLay ethics investigations, the Democratic National Convention, and the Republican National Convention. Wilson holds a Master’s degree, with honors, in print journalism from the American University , in addition to having served as an adjunct professor in AU's School of Communications.

Prior to working at Fox News, Wilson was a reporter and anchor on the Fox O&O WTTG in Washington, D.C. Earlier in his career, Wilson was a reporter at KFDA, the CBS affiliate station in Amarillo, Texas.

Controversy

According to MediaMatters, on April 21, 2005, Wilson presented Tom DeLay's own misleading talking points without rebuttal, specifically that he was being targeted by "a left-wing syndicate" (apparently directly quoted from an email DeLay sent to his supporters in the Houston area entitled 'What the press isn't telling you,'). Newspapers that endorsed George W. Bush and prominent Republicans had also criticized DeLay. Wilson also left unrebutted DeLay's misleading charge that the Texas district attorney investigating contributions to his political action committee is "a liberal, a leftist."
