Northwest is also home of the cougars with the mascot of the school being a cougar. Northwest has many varieties of organizations such as band, JROTC, football team, and many more. This school has more than 1,500 students and even sometimes continues to increase. Northwest also has a variety of teachers, which some do not appreciate and others are well appreciated. As of right now (November 2, 2011) the cougar football team as gone 9-1 only losing to Madison Central.
