The school was established in 1982[2] and by 2009 the school has an enrolment of 594 students between Year 8 and Year 12, 77 (13%) of whom were Aboriginal.[citation needed]
The school was targeted by vandals in 2010 with dozens of windows around the school being smashed during a weekend leaving a damage bill of over $10,000.[3]
