- Noddle (credit report service)
-
Noddle is a free credit report service offered by the British company Callcredit. Launched in June 2011 on a trial basis, Noddle invited 10,000 people to test the service prior to its full launch in Autumn 2011.[1][2]
The service enables clients to view their full credit report for free, without the need to pay for similar services[note 1] from rivals Equifax and Experian.[note 2] Noddle calculated that forgetting to cancel the 'free' trials offered by competitors Equifax and Experian cost British consumers more than £22 million a year. [3]
The Noddle credit report can be reviewed on any occasion. If clients see any discrepancies in their reports, they can promptly dispute the problems with the pertinent reference agency.[2]
As explained by Callcredit Consumer Markets managing director, Tom Ilube: “A credit report is like your financial passport.Companies look at your credit report all the time and make decisions about you based on this information, from approving a mortgage application to giving you a mobile phone contract. We believe customers need to get into the habit of doing the same.” ” [2]
According to Tricia Phillips of The Daily Mirror, "Checking your credit report is important to make sure the information, which providers use to decide if they will lend to you, is correct and to spot any signs your identity may have been stolen by fraudsters." [4]
