Typhoon Nock-ten

The name Nock-ten has been used to name two tropical cyclones in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. The name was contributed by Laos and refers to a bird.

• 2004's Typhoon Nock-ten (T0424, 28W, Tonyo) - struck Taiwan.
• 2011's Severe Tropical Storm Nock-ten (T1108, 10W, Juaning) - Struck the Philippines, South Central China and Vietnam killing 119 people and causing damage worth US$ 126 million.
