Olympic medal record Men's Water Polo Gold 1972 Munich Team competition Nikolai Andreyevich Melnikov (born January 24, 1948) was a water polo player for the Soviet Union.[1] He was Jewish, and was born in Moscow, Russia.[1][2] He won a gold medal at the 1972 Olympics in Munich.[1]
