FIBA Europe U20 MVP 2011Nikola Mirotić (Serbian Cyrillic: Никола Миротић) (born February 11, 1991 in Titograd, Yugoslavia, now Podgorica, Montenegro) is a naturalized Spanish professional basketball player of Montenegrin origin. He is a 2.09 m (6 ft 10.25 in)[1] tall power forward. He plays for Real Madrid.[2]

Pro career
Mirotić began his professional career with the Spanish ACB League club Real Madrid. During the Euroleague 2010-11 season, he emerged as one of his team's most valuable cogs to win the Euroleague Rising Star award.[3] In 2011, he signed a 5 year contract extension with Real Madrid.[4]
On June 23, 2011, Mirotic was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 23rd overall pick, in the 2011 NBA Draft. His rights were traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves and then traded once again to the Chicago Bulls.[5]
Spanish national team
Mirotić has been a member of the junior national team of Spain. He helped Spain's U20 national team win the bronze medal at the 2010 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. He also lead Spain to the gold medal in 2011, being the top scorer and MVP of the tournament, averaging 27 points (tournament record) and 10 rebounds per game.[6]
