LKL All-Star (2010)Mirza Begić (born July 9, 1985 in Bijeljina, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian professional basketball player of Bosnian origin. He is 7 ft 3 in (2.21 m) tall and he can play at Center. He is currently playing with the pro club Real Madrid in Spain.

Pro career
Begić began his career playing with the Sloboda Dita Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He made his pro debut with Sloboda Dita Tuzla in the Bosnia and Herzegovina League during the 2001-02 season.
2002-2004
In season 2002-03 he played for Union Olimpija Juniors. Than he moved to Triglav Kranj in Slovenian League. Begić averaged 7.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 16.9 minutes in first season in Slovenian League.
2004-2006
In 2004 he signed with Virtus Bologna in Italy. First season was loaned to Huy Basket in Belgium's first division. He averaged 6.3 points and 4.2 rebounds. In 2005-06 was released by Virtus Bologna.
2006-2007
In season 2006-07 he back to Slovenia. He signed with Geoplin Slovan. He averaged 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 21.1 minutes per game in the Adriatic League and 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 20.2 minutes per game in Slovenian League.
2007-2009
On July 30, 2007 he signed 2 years contact with Union Olimpija.
He made his Euroleague debut on October 24, 2007, versus Montepaschi Siena of Italy. Begić averaged 3.6 points, 2.8 rebounds per game in his first season of Euroleague play. In his second season in Euroleague he averaged 11.1 points, 6.1 rebounds per game.
In second season in Adriatic League he averaged 3.9 points, 3.4 rebounds per game. He played on 2008 Final Four in Ljubljana when is Union Olimpija lost in Semifinal against KK Partizan. Third season in Adriatic League completed with 8.9 points, 4.5 rebounds per game.
He won the Slovenian National Championship and Slovenian Cup with Union Olimpija in 2008 and 2009.
On November 24, 2008 he renew contact for end of season 2010/11.
On January 18, 2011 he reaches an agreement with Real Madrid to play for the club until the end of the 2012-13 season.[1]
Slovenian national basketball team
He was member of the Slovenian Under-20 National Team. He completed 2005 FIBA under-20 Championship in Russia.
