Nikhil Baran Sengupta

Nikhil Baran Sengupta, an art director of Oriya films, contributed significantly in the coming of age of Oriya films.

He was born in the year 1947, 12 December. His contribution to the success of films e.g. Janani, Sahari Bagha, Maa O Mamata, Suna Chardei, Jugantar(Bangla), Tahader Katha(Bangla), Bagh Bahadur(Hindi) and Mr. and Mrs. Iyer(Hindi)has been always acknowledged but less talked about. In his career of 40 years in the film industry, he has been instrumental in encouraging young talent from Orissa to take center stage.

In 2009 he was awarded the Kelu Charan award in the lifetime achievement category.^[1]
