The creation of WorkBook dates back to 1991 when the founder Niels Heimburger, who was working within Heimburger Advertising, was looking for a complete software system that fit their requirements. The software was developed and in the year 2000, OfficeSystem A/S was formed. In 2009, OfficeSystem A/S had a company name change and WorkBook Software A/S was founded still operating under the ownership of Niels Heimburger and it is believed they have had success within the Professional Services industry, the MARCOM segment and in particular, advertising firms and communications agencies. In Denmark today, WorkBook has a market share of 72% in marketing communications. WorkBook currently have a Partner network[2] including partners in North America, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, England, Poland, Latvia and customers throughout the world. In 2010, WorkBook Software became a Certified Independent Software Vendor with Microsoft.
Software & Services
WorkBook Software A/S provides a product that it claims integrate companies’ project and finance processes into one system. Its industry specific products are aimed primarily at Professional Services Organisations, including advertising agencies, consulting firms and marketing communications.
It is believed that some of WorkBook’s customers host the application and data on their own servers. Others buy WorkBook as a service - called Software as a Service (SaaS). In the long term, all customers will be SaaS customers meaning the customers own servers will become redundant because WorkBook hosts all data and customers work directly through the Microsoft Silverlight interface. WorkBook have recently made all of their applications available on Microsoft Azure, which is Microsoft's hosting platform in the cloud.[3]
