Nicholas Burke

Nicholas Burke, Irish uilleann piper, born 1837.

Burke was born in the parish of Annaghdown. He emigrated to the USA, where he prospered as a builder, and gained a reputation as a piper of distinction. Burke was a descendant of William de Burgh (c.1157-1206).
