Subdivisions: —Ethnologue code: 256-16 The Ngemba languages are a dialect cluster of Grassfields Bantu languages of the western grasslands of Cameroon.
The languages are Awing, Bambili-Bambui, Bafut, Beba, Bamukumbit, Kpati, Mendankwe-Nkwen, Mankon, Mbatu, Chomba, Akum Ngemba, Pinyin.
The name Ngemba comes from the local pidgin nge mba "said that".[citation needed]
