Ngan Dừa is a township (Thị trấn) and town and capital of Hồng Dân District, Bạc Liêu Province, in south-western Vietnam.^[1]

Ngan Dua History

• Thi tran Ngan Dua town: Thi Tran Ngan Dua town was founded before 1940, then it was burned down and devastated completely by a fire during the French's war. People left their hometown until in 1955 they came back in order to re-establish their new village. Ngan Dua rivers were the important transportation route for the local and nearby people and also played a main role in the economic success of the town. Thi Tran Ngan Dua town was the heart of the community and became the center of distribution and the center business for the others villages like Xeo Quao, Luong Tam, Ba Ai, Cai Van, etc.

After established Ngan Dua town, Ngan Dua schools were also built and official opened to public for students from Elementary to Middle school(Grades Kindergarten to Fifth ).

• Trường Trung-học Ngan-Dừa was founded in 1964 as department of Kien Thien High school. The school opened enrollment for the 1964-1965 school year and the first High school's students were admitted in September 1964 . The Unified School District hired only six or seven instructors to teach all students in grades six to nine and some of them were also the volunteer teachers.

• Ngan Dua has become Hong Dan Districtsince September 25, 2000.
