NEE has two main subsidiaries: NextEra Energy Resources (NER) and Florida Power & Light (FPL). NER is the largest North American producer of wind and solar energy. NER operates Solar Electric Generating Systems (SEGS), the world's largest solar power generating facility. In addition to wind and solar, NextEra Energy Resources owns and operates generating plants powered by natural gas, nuclear fuel, and oil.
FPL (NEE's other major subsidiary) delivers rate-regulated electricity to 4.5 million customers in Florida and is the US's third largest utility company.[3]
NEE was listed by Fortune Magazine as one of the top 10 companies worldwide for social responsibility.[4]
