Novy Vasyugan

Novy Vasyugan (New Vasyugan) is a village in Kargasoksky District, Tomsk Oblast, Russia. It is the administrative center of the Novovasyuganskogo rural settlement. The village is situated on the Vasyugan River and is 370 km (230 mi) from Kargaska.

The population of the rural settlement is 2,579 residents.

The town was founded in 1933 as a settlement for convicts and initially called Mogilny Yar. Until 1959, the village was the administrative center of the Vasyuganskoye area, which then became part of Kargasoksky district.

The Novovasyuganskogo rural settlement also includes the village of Aypolovo. The head of the rural settlement is Alexander R. Kergand.
