History
Founded in 2008, the New Belfast Sinfonia gave their 'exceptional'[1] inaugural concert in July, giving the Irish Premiere of Miaskovsky's Cello Concerto, with young Belfast cello star David McCann. They are formed from a number of young talented musicians living, working and studying in the Belfast area.
The orchestra are the product of a 'New Belfast' emerging from the city's troubled past, in a time of cultural emancipation, and diversity. They perform three times a season, at Christmas, Easter and during the Summer period.
